Welcome to Beyond the Bamboo!
Welcome to Beyond the Bamboo, our monthly deep dive into the world of Skating Panda where we share highlights of the impact we’re making in health, climate and culture. No fluff, no buzzwords, just real stories and the real difference we’re creating!
Have a look through our 2025 Impact Report to get a quick look at the great work we do.

At Skating Panda, we leave an impact that‘s lasting – hear it from our Founder and CEO, Andrea Hartley:
‘Rather than enable our clients to ‘look good’ or ‘do good’, we help them ‘be good’. We empower organisations to make bolder and braver decisions, improving their performance and maximising their impact in the world, sooner.’ – Andrea Hartley Founder & CEO, Skating Panda.
Latest News from Panda Towers:
We’ve had a busy and energising month at Pander Towers, filled with events, campaigns, pitches and conversations centred around meaningful, reflective communications.
From hosting discussions at the Skoll World Forum to partnering with Big Give on Earth Raise 2026 – the UK’s first creator-led environmental fundraising campaign, we’ve been exploring how storytelling can drive awareness, connection and action.
We joined conversations on climate reporting with Sky News’ Victoria Seabrook, attended the gala performance of Lifeline the Musical with our partner BEAM Alliance to spotlight antimicrobial resistance and rounded off the month with the BBC’s first Science Editor, David Shukman, at the Fernando Memorial Lecture, reflecting on climate resilience and communication in a changing world.
Most recently, our founder, Andrea, was in South Africa meeting our local partners and clients and attending the board meeting of the fantastic charity mothers2mothers, where she serves on the Global Board. The organisation works to improve the health and wellbeing of women, children, adolescents, and families across sub-Saharan Africa through community-led support and healthcare programmes.
Earth Raise – A Campaign First:
Last month, we delivered a campaign first – Earth Raise 2026 – the UK’s first national creator-led environmental fundraising week, for our wonderful partner Big Give.
Skating Panda worked with a wide range of lifestyle and environmentally interested creators, pairing them with charities across the country to spotlight causes connected to People, Climate, Water and Nature. By pairing up creators with their charity partner of choice, the creators had the opportunity to create social content that tells a story in a really engaging way, driving engagement and funds for Earth Raise via their social platforms. From Tristan Phipps meeting cheetahs at the Big Cat Sanctuary, Amy Nicolson surfing in Cornwall with Surfers Against Sewage to Sam Morris living his dream and flying a barn owl at the Bird of Prey Project, creators helped bring energy, reach and attention to the campaign.
The result was an incredible £10.9 million raised for more than 300 charities across the UK.
Communicating Real Impact:
Skating Panda is an impact consultancy for businesses, NGOs and government organisations. We also run a proactive press office for a number of partners and deliver strategic comms campaigns, creating and bringing impactful ideas to life through strategic, creative and impactful communication.
Some of the amazing partners we are working with on their communications strategy right now include huge bank foundations and carbon trendsetters, as well as networks that are paying close attention to the relationship between AMR and climate change, something we are both passionate about and proud to partner on.
Did you know?
Three of our Pandas are avid skydivers! Although the conditions at Skating Panda HQ aren’t the same as they are 15,000ft in the air, we all take a leaf out of Anne, Iheoma and Andrea’s book and jump full force into every piece of work we do….. No parachute is needed for the rest of us though!
Want to work with us?

We asked Helena our Director of Communications, what stands out for her about working at Skating Panda:
As a B-Corp Skating Panda really stands out as an organisation that wants to support its staff. As a mother, it matters enormously to me to be part of an organisation that truly understands the juggle of work and parenting and is flexible about how and when you work. Skating Panda absolutely does this and staff feel care for and appreciated, which is worth its weight in gold.
Thank you for taking the time to read Beyond the Bamboo. We hope it has given you an insight into who we are and the work we do.
